Voting is to allow all Artists/Alchemists to effectively quality control all art that represents the collective. Remember, this is a collective of quality. We should be sure to hold one another to a level of quality that will boost one another to higher heights in our Artistry. All submissions for “Black Theory” inclusion will have to undergo a voting process.
The voting process will require a specific percentage of the votes submitted by a certain time frame be tallied. These votes will signify whether a piece is to be included, worked on further, or excluded from the release. A vote ranging up to only 40% approval will result in exclusion. A vote ranging from 41%-70% approval will result in a required adjustment/rework of the piece to be voted upon again. A vote ranging from 71%-100% approval will result in automatic inclusion.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR VOTES, YOU ARE ALLOWED ONLY 1 VOTE PER VOTING PROCESS. YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOUR VOTE ONCE SUBMITTED. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
You are an artist for a reason. There is zero limitation on your artistic expression. We have a voting system built in to make sure everything is considered in a fair manner for “Black Theory” inclusion.
Work should be shown in progressive steps in the forum under the “Alchemy” section and “Critique”. This portion of the forum is only available to Artists/Alchemists. This will allow your progress to be seen and positive suggestions or praise to be given leading up to full submission (this makes the process simpler for those who want to get a feel for what the rest of the collective is thinking before they submit a full piece). Once this is done, you will submit your work via email at a lower resolution to info[@]blkalchemy.com and it will be posted for consideration in the “Alchemy”/”Voting” section. Voting can start immediately. Once approved, only a high resolution version of the image is required.
Your logo can be placed on the image; however, the logo should be in a location that does not cover nor interfere with the art (Hiding your logo in the work is encouraged as well). We also provide the BlkAlchemy (Black Alchemy) logo in 3 types which you can apply to your digital version however you deem fit, but it is a requirement for collective submitted work. We are a collective of quality and integrity.
There is no limitation on the number of pieces and Artist/Alchemist can submit to any “Black Theory” release. All pieces will be required to go through the voting process.
Absolutely; however, to refrain from spoiling upcoming releases, we ask that you only display the work in question following the release. This helps with our overall marketing, exposure for the collective, as well as the driven traffic to each individual artist. We will be using the time leading up to “Black Theory” releases to build anticipation so keeping work under wraps is key.
We will not tolerate outside attempts at theft and will not stake claim to your art. You are an Artist/Alchemist and therefore your work represents the whole of the collective and we treat each piece with the same respect we do our own. If any Artist/Alchemist notices theft of a fellow Aritst’s/Alchemist’s work, we implore you to send the information to the person whose work has been stolen. We are here to provide a safe environment.
Every BlkAlchemy (Black Alchemy) Artist/Alchemist is given 2 invites following a release. The invites can be given to anyone who fits the requirements in the “What do you look for in an Artist?” faq section. Prior to providing the person you wish with the invite, you must submit a link to their portfolio or body of work to the forum under “Alchemy/Prospects”. Once a majority approves, an invite can be given. If you are not comfortable giving out invites, you may offer the invites up to another Artist/Alchemist in the “Alchemy/Voting” section of the forum. Any unused invites will be forfeited by the time of the next “Black Theory” release and offered to the core “Talented 10th” Artists/Alchemists. Once a new “Artist/Alchemist” is approved, they can now submit to “Black Theory” releases and participate in any BlkAlchemy (Black Alchemy) events.
If you live too far away, do not fret, we will still allow your art to be shown if space permits. You have the option of providing the piece yourself, to which it will be set up and returned when done, or we print the piece for you and it remains in the BlkAlchemy (Black Alchemy) archives for potential use in any future exhibitions.
Images can seem complex and to ease things a bit, a how to video was created.
